Heading to Disneyland is meant to be one of the most magical experiences we could ever have, but what about when things become a little stressful? That can be the case if we’re not prepared. So, when is the best time to visit Disneyland?

January – April is usually quieter than the rest of the year
If you want to avoid crowds at Disneyland, you might want to think about heading to the parks in January. The holiday decorations are still up at the beginning of the month. Still, the opening hours are shorter, and some rides are usually shut for renovation. February is one of the quietest months, meaning you can still avoid the crowds. Heading to Disneyland at the start of March offers up fewer crowds with better weather, but the end of the month starts to see the crowds roll in. April is also prime spring break time, meaning the parks are usually filled with guests and sees plenty of longer lines for rides.

May – August are some of the busiest months at Disneyland
Want to ride new Disneyland attractions before anyone else? May is the time the parks soft-open new rides and is a great time to visit for the weather and fewer crowds until you get to Memorial Day weekend. Things only continue to heat up as the months go by, with June seeing a full calendar yet more crowds due to the start of summer break. July and August are typically the busiest times of the year at Disneyland, and they’re both packed full of things to see and do. Although the crowds are huge and the heat can be too much for some, the extended park hours mean we get more time to take it all in. Just be sure to take plenty of water, as waiting in line is almost a given during the summer months.

September – December is mixed when it comes to crowds
There are so many reasons to head to Disneyland at the end of the year. September sees the start of Halloween celebrations, yet it’s often quieter as the schools head back to class. Things take even more of a turn in spooky month, with October seeing Halloween fully take its hold on the parks with events like the Disneyland Halloween Party seeing everything and everyone get a makeover. November tends to quieten down a little bit until it gets to Thanksgiving, and from there, there’s no stopping the crowds. December – and Christmas – is one of the busiest times for Disneyland, but with so many beautiful shows and decorations to see, it might be little wonder that so many people flock to the parks. In fact, December is a great time to visit if you want to take in the atmosphere more than get yourself on the rides.
When is the best time to visit Disneyland? It all depends on what you want from the parks. For fewer crowds, the beginning of the year. For an unforgettable Disneyland experience, the end of the year could be for you.
