The Top Free Things To Do Across Phoenix

There are plenty of reasons that Arizona is often at the top of people’s bucket lists. Phoenix is one of the many incredible cities to explore, but that’s not all. The top free things to do across Phoenix mean that we can enjoy the capital city without spending a penny.

Desert Botanical Garden

Being in the middle of a city doesn’t mean that people are too far from a walk with Mother Nature. The Desert Botanical Garden is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle as the trail is lined with incredible blooms and plenty of the city’s famous cacti. While it’s gorgeous throughout the year, it really comes to life in spring.

Heritage Square

Downtown Phoenix is famous for its modern homes, quite the contrast to Heritage Square. Here, the space is filled with late-Victorian and early-1900s homes that still stand proudly against the rest of the city. Many of them have since been repurposed into stores, a visitors center, restaurants, stores, and a crafting space. The best bit? We can even see inside the restored Rosson House.

Piestewa Peak

Okay, you’ll have to wake up pretty early if you want to enjoy Piestewa Peak, but there is a reason that it’s so popular. The 2,608-foot peak is a tough climb, but it’s hugely popular as it offers some incredible views of Phoenix, is a great way to get out of the city, and is completely free.

The Phoenix Art Museum

While you don’t have to pay to get into the Phoenix Art Museum, it does rely on donations to keep its doors open. Once here, you can enjoy just about every type of art, with many of the pieces taking inspiration from the Arizona landscape. Thankfully, there is plenty to see and do for all the family as the museum has dedicated kids zones, such as the PhxArtKids Gallery.

South Mountain Park

If you want to get out and about in a park that’s larger than Manhattan, then you might want to head to South Mountain Park. It’s hugely popular for horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking as there are so many trails on offer across the park. Visitors get to see everything from Indian petroglyphs to cacti-studded hills and everything in between – all for free.

Phoenix Farmers Market

Did you know that the Phoenix Farmers Market is actually the largest in the state? Of course, it might be hard to resist some of the incredible things on offer as the market contains jewelry, bread, fresh fruit and vegetables, salsas, spices, organic meat, and textiles. However, even just walking through the rows and rows of stalls on offer is a sight to behold as the streets come to life with the hustle and bustle of people looking for some of the best offerings in the city.

The top free things to do across Phoenix are great for so many reasons. They give us plenty to do, and they don’t come with a hefty price tag. Perfect.
