Although the likes of couch surfing and Airbnbs have now taken over the world of travel and accommodation, there’s no doubt about the fact that hotels are still extremely popular. In fact, the world is full of amazing and luxurious hotels that have housed millions of people – including celebs. As these famous faces have oodles of money to their names, they have been able to shell out a huge amount of money over the years to stay in some of the best hotels that this planet has to offer. These historic hotel rooms are particularly popular with those in the limelight.

The Taj Mahal Palace – Mumbai, India
The Taj Mahal Palace has impressed guests since 1903, and it’s fair to say that some of the richest people in the world have walked within these walls. In fact, most of them spend their nights in the Ravi Shankar Suite, which overlooks the beautiful and world-renowned structure of the Gateway of India. This suite has welcomed the likes of the Dalai Lama, Brad and Angelina, and even Prince William and Kate Middleton over the years.
Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo – Monaco
As the playground of the rich and famous, it should come as no surprise to learn that Monaco is full of amazing hotels. One particular hotel that has caused a stir over the years is the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. Over the years, some of the biggest names in the world have been able to call this place their temporary home, including Elton John, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. As if that wasn’t enough, current celebs have also splashed the cash to stay in the new Princess Grace Suite – which costs more than $30,000 a night.

The Hotel Windsor – Melbourne, Victoria
Melbourne has welcomed celebrity guests for hundreds of years, and many of them choose to spend their nights at the prestigious Hotel Windsor. Anybody who is anybody stays in the Royal Suite, which offers them a whopping 120-square-meters of plush luxury. Those who stay here get their own dining room, drawing room, priceless antiques, and marble fireplaces, and it’s been host to some rather impressive names. In fact, Katharine Hepburn, Vivien Leigh, Sir Laurence Olivier, Meryl Streep, Muhammad Ali, and more have stayed here.
The Savoy – London, England
When you think of London, there’s a high chance that you immediately think of The Savoy. This high-profile hotel is steeped in history, and The Monet Suite is perhaps one of the most famous suites in the whole building. That’s because this suite – which consists of two rooms on the sixth floor – was actually home to Claude Monet in 1899. He stayed in the hotel for the whole fall season, and reportedly removed all of the furniture so that he could start his impressive collection of paintings.

There are so many hotels and hotel rooms across the world, but did you know that so many famous faces made an effort to stay in the same rooms as some of their idols? It’s amazing what money can buy.
