You and your family can always take to the water in a canoe, which you can either bring with you or rent from Grand Lake. The water here is usually cold but calm, offering hours of entertainment as you try to navigate your way around. Who knows what sights you might encounter on the shore or beneath the water as you go exploring? Plus, if a canoe isn’t to your liking, you can always go for a kayak or pontoon boat instead.
Sledding at Hidden Valley is great when the snow falls in winter
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of those places that isn’t necessarily the same all year round. When winter hits, the chance for snow increases, particularly in places like Hidden Valley. This is an excellent place to head to if you’re interested in sledding with your kids. You will have to bring your own equipment, though, as there aren’t any rental facilities at the park. It’s also worth calling in advance to ensure that the conditions are ideal.
