This Is What You Need In Your Long Haul Flight Survival Kit

We all love traveling, right? The thrill of seeing new destinations and exploring the unknown is something that we just can’t get enough of, but there’s no doubt about the fact that there is one aspect of traveling that we could do without. Although we wish that we could simply snap our fingers and transport ourselves to new countries across the globe, that just isn’t possible. We have to survive the long-haul flight before we can really get into vacation mode – but how is it possible to survive such a long stint in the same uncomfortable seat? Well, this is what you need in your long-haul flight survival kit.

Comfortable clothes

Unless you’re able to shell out for first-class seats, there’s no doubt about the fact that airplane seats are pretty uncomfortable. There’s nothing worse than honing into just how uncomfortable you are within the first few hours of your long-haul flight, and nobody wants the waistband of their jeans digging into their stomach when they already feel a little ants. So, choose sweatpants and a sweatshirt to keep you warm, and keep an extra scarf at bay so it can double-up as a pillow if you need it.

Your favorite hot drink

If you’re the kind of person that loves their herbal tea to wake them up in the morning, or whether you have a coffee that gives you the buzz that you desperately need to stop you from being grumpy, then take it with you on your long-haul flight! Flight attendants are equipped with hot water at all times, and they are more than happy to provide you with hot water so you can brew your own tea or coffee. You don’t have to just give in to the tea or coffee they have on the flight, you know.

The yummiest snacks

Although it’s easy to simply head to duty-free and stock up on the expensive snacks, why would you do that when you could make your own yummy snacks at home? Before you leave for the airport, think about the foods that make you happier than any other food, and see if you can cook up a batch, or buy them from your local grocery store. Not only will this make you feel good about the fact that you haven’t spent a lot of money, but it will also put a smile on your face. Make sure you have some water to wash them down, as hydration is key.

Entertainment

There really is nothing worse than staring at the seat in front of you for 12 hours straight. Long-haul flights can be boring, so you need to make sure that you have your own form of entertainment with you. While this may come in the form of the movies that they play with the in-flight entertainment, take other options with you. This could be a book, a magazine, or just some music. You need to keep yourself distracted.
