You probably don’t need us to tell you that Game of Thrones is one of the most popular television shows of all time, right? Everyone seems to have watched every single season of this show, and we’ve got pretty familiar with the characters over the years. While there’s no doubt about the fact that this show is full of epic characters who could all use their fighting skills for good within the NFL, there’s one particular Game of Thrones star who would dominate the field – and we think you might know who it is. Well, it seems as though he could finally be making his way to the NFL…
The man they call “The Mountain”
If you cast your mind back to season four of Game of Thrones, you may remember when Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson made his debut. While his character of Gregor Clegane had already appeared in the first few seasons, Hafþór took over the role of “The Mountain” when it mattered most – and he certainly made his mark. Known for his incredible fighting skill and his 6-foot-9 frame, he could seriously pack a punch. Amazingly, Hafþór is just like his GoT character in real life. Thankfully for us, though, he is missing the intense desire for bloodshed.
The strongest man in the world
Even if you haven’t watched Game of Thrones, you may still be familiar with Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. He’s often been called The Mountain outside of the show, and he’s also earned the nickname of Thor due to his superhuman strength and size. Yes, this man has been in the limelight for decades, and that’s all thanks to his ranking as one of the strongest men in the world. For many years, this Icelandic beast has competed in strongman competitions and proved his worth. His 450-pound physique is able to lift some serious weight, and he makes it look pretty easy.
Countless offers and opportunities
Due to his immense strength and his ability to act in front of the camera, it should probably come as no surprise to learn that Hafþór has been approached with various offers and opportunities over the years. He has not only been invited to become a member of the WWE, but he’s even been approached by the Indianapolis Colts to start his NFL career – and it kinda makes sense. If The Mountain had been born or raised in the United States, there’s no doubt about the fact that his teachers and sports coaches would have pushed him in the direction of football. Because he grew up in Iceland, he found himself gravitating towards weightlifting and strongman competitions instead. However, it seems as though he could still change his mind and decide to venture into this realm.
The Mountain is a huge name in the world of sports – quite literally – and we have no doubts about the fact that he would be a huge asset to any NFL team. Now, we just need to persuade him to take the job…
