Let’s face it; many of us have a soft spot when it comes to chocolate. It seems it could be time for chocolate lovers to unite as Lindt has some great news: it has just opened the largest chocolate museum in the world – and it’s open to the public.

Securing Switzerland’s legacy
Switzerland has long been at the top when it comes to chocolate. Now, the country is also home to the largest chocolate museum in the world thanks to Lindt’s new adventure. The chocolate company knows that welcoming visitors through the door will help to secure the country’s legacy as Switzerland will forever be known as a chocolate country. Lindt Chocolate Competence Foundation funded the entire project. They want to make sure Switzerland’s sweet treats are recognized on a global scale. Taking home the title for the largest chocolate museum in the world certainly helps make that dream come true.

Opening the doors
Lindt’s chocolate museum first opened its doors in September 2020 and has already welcomed plenty of people through the doors. Here, people can enjoy everything from how chocolate has been developed through the years to the cultural heritage of the sweet dish. Of course, these aren’t the only things on the menu. Would it be a trip to the largest chocolate museum in the world without trying some for yourself? That’s what we thought. Thankfully, the museum also comes with a cafe filled with everything chocolatey you could imagine.

Plenty of adventures
There are plenty of things to see and do as soon as you step through the doors of the museum. One of the first things that hits you in the face is a 30-foot-high chocolate fountain. It might not be a Willy Wonka chocolate river, but it’s certainly enough to get our mouths watering. Time Out reports that 1,500 liters of melted chocolate pours through the fountain as it drips down the golden whisk into the waiting Lindt truffle at the bottom. Of course, there are also plenty of facts throughout the museum, such as how cocoa beans have evolved over the years and how the world of chocolate grew to become such a major part of our lives.

A glimpse behind the scenes
It turns out that a trip to Lindt’s new chocolate museum also gives people a chance to look behind the scenes. That’s all thanks to the research plant that’s on full display to everyone in the museum. Here, you get to see researchers test all new flavors and ideas as they bring the next chocolatey masterpiece to life. Feel like trying it for yourself? You’re in luck as the museum also comes with its own kitchen for guests to try and make something delicious to take home at the end of the trip.
The largest chocolate museum in the world is a huge step for Switzerland – and something many of us would be more than happy to enjoy. Can you ever have too much chocolate? We could be about to find out.
