Do you love food? What about food challenges? America is full of so many weird and wonderful food challenges, and we wonder whether you feel brave enough to tackle them yourself…
Four Horsemen Burger
Where: Chunky’s Burgers (San Antonio, Texas)
What’s in it: ½ pound burger topped with a jalapeno, serrano, habanero, and ghost pepper sauce.
A ½ pound burger is pretty easy, right? You could eat that in your sleep no biggie, couldn’t you? Well, it seems as though most people would be able to do this, but there’s something a little different about the Four Horsemen Burger.

Those at Chunky’s Burgers in San Antonio, Texas, have made sure that their competitors don’t leave without fewer taste buds because this burger is hot, hot, hot! The sauce is made out of some of the hottest peppers in the world – including the ghost pepper, which takes the silver medal in the realm of hot peppers. If you can complete these burgers and avoid water for 5 minutes, you’ve nailed it.
Big Fat Fatty
Where: Fat Sal’s (Various locations across Los Angeles and San Diego)
What’s in it: A 27-inch sandwich topped with 5 cheeseburgers, a packet of bacon, five fried eggs, 1.5 pounds of cheesesteak topped with 6 ounces of cheddar cheese, 1.5 pounds of pastrami topped with 6 ounces of mozzarella, 10 chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, a bowl of homemade chilli, a few ladles of marinara sauce, deep-fried jalapeno poppers, a basket of French fries, and garlic aioli.

With a name like the Big Fat Fatty, you don’t need to be a genius to know that this isn’t a salad topped with even more salad for good measure. Instead, it’s essentially clogged arteries on a giant plate. Yes, we almost ran out of breath (in our fingers) typing out all of the ingredients within this Fat Sal’s sandwich. Because of this, it should come as no surprise to learn that this eatery can count the number of people who have completed this challenge on the one hand. That’s because it’s almost impossible to eat 12 pounds worth of meat, cheese, and deep-fried food in under 40 minutes without having 10 people by your side.
The Grand Slam Challenge
Where: Batter Up Pancakes (Fresno, California)
What’s in it: A 25-inch pancake with 10 scrambled eggs, 1 cup of cheese, 2 cups of potatoes, and 4 toppings of your choice.
Pancakes are the kind of food that goes with everything, and that’s why we love them so much.

Do you want a sweet pancake? No problem! Do you fancy something more savory? Well, batter up! That’s exactly what you’ll have to do if you ever decide to take on the Grand Slam Challenge because this contest will require you to magically grow another stomach. This giant pancake really is a force to contend with, especially when you only have 45 minutes to eat it all. If you do finish it, you’ll be able to win a coffee mug and a T-shirt.
The Moby Dick
Where: Lucky Louie’s Beer & Wieners (Erie, Pennsylvania)
What’s in it: One full loaf of Italian bread filled with 4 fried eggs, 6 perogies, 2 pounds of garlic bologna sauce, chili, 2 pounds of cream cheese, and sauerkraut.
If you’ve always wanted to break a world record, then this might be your chance. Grab your coat, stretch your stomach, and head on down to Lucky Louie’s Beer & Wieners in Erie, because you could be the first person to ever complete this crazy food challenge.

The Moby Dick is a behemoth sandwich that will definitely make you feel nauseous, but the payout could be worth it. Not only would you have the pride of being the first person to demolish the sandwich, but you’ll also get your meal retracted from your bill, a free T-shirt, a picture on the wall, and $100 in cash. Might as well give it a go, right?
Mama’s Pasta Challenge
Where: Mama’s On The Hill (St. Louis, Missouri)
What’s in it: 4.5 pounds of spaghetti topped with marinara sauce and a 2-pound meatball.
Is there anyone in this world who doesn’t like pasta? We think not.

If you have a huge appetite and really love the stringy stuff, then you’ll be happy to know that there’s a restaurant in St. Louis that can cater to the mountain of pasta that you dream about on a daily basis. As you can see, the Mama’s Pasta Challenge is pretty huge – but it’s also important to remember that there’s even more pasta and sauce inside the bowl! Of course, the piece-de-resistance of this whole dish is the giant meatball that sits atop the pasta mountain with pride. It’s a tough challenge, but it has been done.
The Jack-N-Grill Challenge
Where: Jack-N-Grill (Denver, Colorado)
What’s in it: 12 eggs, 1 pound of ham, 7 potatoes, 1 onion, chili, and cheese.
It’s no secret that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so you have to fill your boots, right? We can only assume that this is what the Jack-N-Grill in Denver had in mind when they created their breakfast burrito challenge.

The whole burrito weighs a whopping 7 pounds, and it looks pretty intimidating to those who just have some granola and a glass of orange juice for breakfast. However, it seems as though this restaurant cooks up around 10 of these big whoppers every single week, and around 1 in 10 contestants will emerge victorious. This might have something to do with the fact that there’s no real time limit.
The Inferno Pizza
Where: Pazza Bistro (Gainesville, Florida)
What’s in it: A 12-inch pizza topped with a spicy sauce made from jalapeno, habanero, and ghost peppers.
Do you love pizza? Do you love spicy food? Well, you might be in luck – if you have an extremely high pain tolerance.

The Pazza Bistro in Gainesville, Florida offers customers the chance to take part in their Inferno Pizza challenge, and it’s fair to say that it’s pretty intense. While the pizza is always going to be downright delicious, you probably won’t be able to taste anything other than the spicy sauce that’s made from some of the hottest peppers that this world has to offer. You have 20 minutes to complete this challenge, and you’re only allowed one glass of water throughout the whole process! If you think that sounds harsh, just wait until you find out that you also have to lick your hands and fingers when you’re done…
The Big Fat Ugly
Where: The Fat Sandwich Company (Champaign, Illinois)
What’s in it: 2 bread rolls filled with double cheesesteak, 2 cheeseburgers, chicken cheesesteak, chicken nuggets, grilled chicken, chicken fingers, gyro meat, sausage, bacon, mozzarella sticks, fried mushrooms, pizza bites, mac-n-cheese bites, jalapeno poppers, onion rings, hash browns, mini corn dogs, American cheese, mayonnaise, and Ketchup.

Considering the name of this sandwich company is called The Fat Sandwich, and they’re offering a challenge called the Big Fat Ugly, it should come as no surprise to learn that you don’t have a small sandwich to contend with. In fact, this sandwich full of so many ingredients and foods that we can’t quite believe so many items fit in between two pieces of bread. How is that even possible?! What’s even more unbelievable is the fact that anyone who dares to take on this challenge has just 15 minutes to scoff down the whole thing. If they can do that, they don’t have to pay for their food, and they get a free T-shirt.
The Rocky Top Ice Cream Challenge
Where: It’s All So Yummy Cafe (Knoxville, Tennessee)
What’s in it: 16 scoops of ice cream, 3 brownies, 3 bananas, chocolate sauce, sugar cones, marshmallows, candy, whip cream, and more sweet treats.
Although it’s pretty cold, there’s no doubt about the fact that we could happily eat ice cream for every meal, every single month of the year.

It seems as though It’s All So Yummy Cafe in Knoxville knows that there are many people like us in the world, and have created the perfect eating challenge for us. Complete with a whole load of ice cream and even more toppings, the Rocky Top Ice Cream Challenge is certainly not one for those who don’t have a sweet tooth. You have one hour to complete this challenge, and if you’re successful, you’ll get it on the house.

Although you can’t ask any questions about the 12-egg omelet, you can choose what you want to put in your omelet, and there are so many options to choose from. The Kitchen Sink Challenge
Where: The San Francisco Creamery Co. (Walnut Creek, California)
What’s in it: 8 scoops of ice cream, 3 bananas, 8 different toppings, whipped cream, nuts, and cherries.
When you’re going on vacation you have to pack everything, right? This includes the kitchen sink because no trip would be complete without a kitchen sink as the cherry on top.

Although taking your own kitchen sink would result in some serious plumbing issues, you could just head to The San Francisco Creamery Co. instead. The Kitchen Sink Challenge definitely isn’t for the -fainthearted, and it’s definitely not for those who are lactose intolerant either. That’s because you have just one hour to finish this glorious dessert – and everything that drips down on the tray underneath! It normally serves 6, so you better get shoveling…
Hail Mary Burger Challenge
Where: Stadium Grill (Columbia, Missouri)
What’s in it: Two ciabatta rolls filled with 1 pound of fries, 4 beef patties, bacon, fried eggs, pulled pork, and onion straws.
Burgers are pretty much a staple of everyone’s diet, but it seems as though some people might want to avoid the Hail Mary Burger Challenge. This burger hails from the Stadium Grill in Columbia, and so far the burger remains completely undefeated.

It’s clear to see that the burger is pretty hefty, and it’s this huge amount of bread, meat, and sides that makes the whole thing pretty tough to eat. Do you eat it all in one go? Or do you eat layer by layer? If the impossible does happen and someone does eventually get the chance to defeat this burger, they will not only get re-naming rights, but they will also win a $50 gift card every month for a year.
The Challenger Stuffed Pizza
Where: Randy’s Wooster St. Pizza (Manchester, Connecticut)
What’s in it: A 22-inch pizza stuffed with all kinds of meat and vegetables.
The specifics around The Challenger Stuffed Pizza are a little vague, but it seems as though the chefs behind the scenes at Randy’s Wooster St. Pizza in Manchester simply stuff this pizza with all kinds of goodness.

In fact, when they’re done, it weighs around 10 pounds! Thankfully, you won’t have to tackle this one alone. Randy’s allows two people to take part in this challenge and gives them one hour to demolish the whole thing. If they manage to do so, they get the pizza for free, they get a $50 gift card, a cool hat, and a photo on the wall of fame.

In fact, it might tickle one of the four whole pickles that you’ll get within The 9 Pounder. What’s so crazy about this food challenge is that the meat alone is a whopping 9 pounds. What’s in it: 180 oysters.
The Acme Oyster House in New Orleans really doesn’t mess around when it comes to their 15 Dozen Club Challenge – because you really do get exactly what you ask for.

If your math isn’t quite up to scratch, 15 dozen oysters equates to a whopping 180 oysters, and you have to eat all of these in one hour. Because the restaurant knows that eating this many oysters isn’t going to be easy, they do offer a few things to help these mollusks slide down. You can either pick them out with a fork, or you can simply slurp them down using just your hands. As if that wasn’t cool enough, you can even leave the table to head to the bathroom. However, you must be supervised.
The Five-Pound Pork Burrito
Where: Manuel’s El Tepeyac Cafe (Los Angeles, California)
What’s in it: Original pork burrito covered in cheese and sauce.
You’ll have a hard time coming across someone who doesn’t love a burrito, and it’s fair to say that one of the best things about this dish is that you can mix and match the ingredients when you make it yourself.

However, you don’t have to do that when you head to Manuel’s El Tepeyac Cafe in Los Angeles, because their original pork burrito is truly something special. If you’re feeling really hungry, you could even sink your teeth into a five-pound burrito and take part in the hefty challenge. Have you ever eaten 7 pounds of food in one go before? Well, now could be your chance.

The Baron’s Pub in Suffolk offers customers the chance to take part in The Baronator Challenge if they’re feeling brave enough. Although many people have taken part in this task and tried to eat the huge burger, only a few people have been able to tackle it and emerge victorious. Of course, we don’t blame them. An hour is not a lot of time to fit 7 pounds worth of food into your stomach, especially when it’s made of filling meat, bread, and potatoes.
The 14er
Where: Beau Jo’s Pizza (Various locations in Colorado)
What’s in it: A 14-pound pizza with a 16-inch crust, topped with hamburger, sausage, pepperoni, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and cheese.
Don’t worry if you just thought this was another 14-inch pizza, because we made the same mistake.

Of course, this is a crazy food challenge we’re talking about, so it’s very unlikely that Beau Jo’s Pizza would create something that most of the population could complete within just a few minutes. Oh, no. The 14er challenge actually features a pizza that weighs a whopping 14 pounds and covered in all kinds of delicious toppings. Do you think you could do it? Thankfully, you won’t have to do it alone. Beau Jo’s allows two people to complete this challenge, and if they do so in an hour, the pizza is completely free, they get to take home $100 cash, and they get two T-shirts.
The Fire In Your Hole Challenge
Where: Munchies 420 Cafe (Sarasota, Florida)
What’s in it: 10 hot wings coated in ghost pepper extract.
As you can probably tell by the name, the Fire In Your Hole Challenge isn’t about delicious sweet and sour hot wings that will allow you to taste the succulent chicken underneath the sauce.

Instead, this challenge is all about pushing the human race to their limit – while also making their bathroom breaks more frequent. The Munchies 420 Cafe in Sarasota have created a challenge that will make even the strongest of people weep, and that’s largely because these hot wings are coated in ghost pepper extract. If you can eat all of them in 20 minutes, you get to make your mark on the wall of fame. If you fail, it’s the wall of shame for you…
The 8th Wonder Challenge
Where: Clinton Station Diner (Clinton, New Jersey)
What’s in it: A 50-pound burger with 120 slices of cheese, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes.
Okay, so the specifics surrounding the ingredients of this ridiculous burger are a little secretive, but what we do know is that the 8th Wonder Challenge burger should really be given its own zip code.

It’s absolutely huge, and the meat itself weighs in at 50 pounds. Yet, things get even more insane when you realize that, with the rest of the ingredients on top, the burger actually weighs in at around 105 pounds! Thankfully, there’s no way that you could finish this challenge on your own – unless you want to end up in the emergency room. This challenge runs on the notion that sharing is caring, so it’s down to you and a maximum of 10 people to chow down on it before the hour is up. If you can do it, you win $5,000.
The Ultimate Destroyer
Where: Papa Bob’s Bar-B-Que (Kansas City, Kansas)

Papa Bob’s Bar-B-Que in Kansas City is famous for its smoked meats, so it’s only natural that Papa Bob created something that would showcase all of his best food in one delicious sandwich. Those who take on this challenge have just 45 minutes to clear the whole plate, and you’re not allowed to take any bathroom breaks during this time. All you have to do is sit there and eat, and then you get the whole thing for free. You can also have a slice of glory for dessert.

Of course, you might want to prepare yourself for this mammoth challenge, so it’s probably best that you don’t eat for a week to make sure that you have enough space in your stomach. This whole omelet and the sides normally weigh around 6.5 pounds, and it’s your job to ensure that you can lick the dish clean at the end of one hour – or before the hour if you’re feeling fancy. If you do this, your meal is free, you get a free T-shirt, and you even get to pose for a wonderful picture to go on the wall.

Jake’s Five Pound Philly Challenge knows that everyone has their own likes and dislikes in this world, so the Philadelphia sandwich shop has allowed its competitors to choose their own filling with this one.

That’s pretty nice of them, right? Of course, one of the most difficult things about this challenge is that there are so many different foods to eat. Not only do you have the sandwich, but then you have all of the extras to boot! How would you even make your way around the dish? Well, it seems as though some people have been able to complete the Jake’s Five Pound Philly Challenge under the 45-minute time limit, and had the sandwich scratched from their bill.
The Zellagabetsky
Where: Kenny and Ziggy’s New York Delicatessen Restaurant (Houston, Texas)
What’s in it: A 4-pound, 8-decker sandwich filled with pastrami, corned beef, roast beef, corned beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, red sweet pepper, and Russian dressing.

Honolulu is all about big and delicious meals, which is probably why the genius minds at Moose McGillycuddy’s decided to create the Moose McGillycuddy’s Omelet challenge. You may not have ever eaten an omelet made from 12 eggs before, but it’s fair to say that it’s pretty filling. So, couple that with the fact that it’s filled with all kinds of goodies and served with sides, and you’ve got a recipe for a painful stomach ache. Yet, if you finish this mammoth omelet in under an hour, you get a quirky T-shirt for free.

If you’re a fan of vomiting in a crowded restaurant, then you can join the ranks of challengers who have attempted the Inferno Bowl Challenge at Nitally’s ThaiMex Cuisine in St. Petersburg.

In fact, a whopping 40% of those who have attempted this challenge have brought it right back up again, due to the fact that it’s just so spicy. This might have something to do with the fact that around 16 ounces of the 48-ounce soup are made up of ghost peppers, which are the second hottest peppers in the world. To make matters worse, contestants only have 30 minutes to down the whole bowl, and that just seems a little out of reach for us.

Where: Pho Garden (San Francisco, California)
What’s in it: 2 pounds of noodles and 2 pounds of combination beef, plus vegetables.

If you fancy yourself as a professional Pho eater, then why don’t you head to this eatery to take part in the Pho Garden Challenge? Although there’s no way you’ll be able to sneak this bowl in your purse and take it home, at least you’ll be able to take home a stomach that is ready to burst. You have a whole hour to finish this bowl of broth, beef, noodles, and vegetables, and will get the meal free if you manage to do it in time.
Full O’Bull
Where: Cowtown Diner (Fort Worth, Texas)
What’s in it: 9 pounds of chicken fried steak, with 4 pounds of mashed potatoes and 10 pieces of Texas Toast.

Weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds, this steak isn’t the only thing on the Full O’Bull menu, so we hope you’ve got a pretty big appetite. That’s because this challenge also features some of the most filling sides known to humankind. This dough is filled with all kinds of meats, cheeses, and seasoning, and it definitely looks pretty delicious. However, we can’t imagine that too many people would be able to eat it in under an hour. Of course, if anyone does complete the impossible, they will be able to get a free T-shirt and have their photo slapped on the wall of fame.
The Texas Donut
Where: Round Rock Donuts (Round Rock, Texas)

Is there anyone in this world who doesn’t love donuts? If there is, we’d love to sit them down and have a long chat. After all, we’re not mad. We’re just disappointed.

If you are the kind of person that can demolish a 12-pack of Krispy Kremes in just a few hours, it might be time to head to Round Rock Donuts in Texas. This 2-pound donut is even bigger than your head and is normally shared by a whole family who just can’t get enough of the sugary taste. However, why not set yourself your own challenge and aim to eat the whole thing yourself? We believe that you can do it.

What’s in it: A 16-inch deep-dish pizza filled with sausage, ham, Canadian bacon, bacon bits, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives, green olives, and mozzarella cheese.
If you think of yourself as somewhat of a pizza connoisseur, you’ll know that thin crust pizza is always so much easier to eat than a deep-dish pizza.

Now, that has nothing to do with the taste, but the extra crust certainly fills up more of a hole in your stomach. Because of this, we’re not surprised that very few people have been able to tackle it and complete it. The pizza is large in size, but it’s also huge in terms of the toppings and the added extras that you have to eat. However, if you do decide to give it a go yourself, you will have the pleasure of knowing that you won’t have to pay for the pizza at all.
The Terminator Challenge
Where: Shelby’s Kitchen and Deli (Deerfield Beach, Florida)
What’s in it: 24-inch pancake loaded with 1.5 pounds of bacon, 1.5 pounds of fries, 6 sausage patties, 4 fried eggs, and 2 slices of toast.
There’s nothing quite like having pancakes for breakfast, but we don’t like to stick to conventions. If you want to eat pancakes for lunch or dinner – or just a midnight snack – then you do that!

Shelby’s Kitchen and Deli caters for all kinds of pancake lovers, but it’s fair to say that there’s one item on the menu that’s a little niche. The Terminator Challenge features a whole load of pancake and a whole load of toppings, and you’ll get the whole thing for free if you manage to finish it all. If you can complete this challenge, you can even walk away knowing that you didn’t have to pay a cent for your dinner! Of course, it’s not quite as easy as it sounds. Eating a 72-ounce steak is bad enough without adding all kinds of hefty sides into the mix. We think we’d struggle with this one.
The Bomb Challenge
Where: Paddy Long’s (Chicago, Illinois)
What’s in it: 5 pounds of spiced ground beef, pork, and sausage wrapped in brown sugar bacon served with a side of fries.
If you’re a big meat eater, there’s a high chance that you’d be a pretty happy carnivore at Paddy Long’s place in Chicago.

Known for slow-roasting their meat, so it’s perfectly tender and moist, many customers opt to try out one of the favorite additions to their menu; The Bomb. While this normally serves around 6-8 people, The Bomb Challenge does exist for a reason. If you can eat this whole thing in just 45 minutes and devour the huge side of fries at the same time, you can go down in history as a Paddy Long’s challenge. You’ll get your meal for free, you’ll be able to sport a rather fetching T-shirt, and a spot on the wall of fame.

The Kodiak Arrest challenge at Humpy’s Alaskan Alehouse in Anchorage offers an homage to the creatures of the land and the sea, and it’s fair to say that you couldn’t really fit much more on the dishes. The idea behind the challenge is that you have exactly one hour to polish off everything on your plate before the buzzer sounds and you lose the game. If you do manage to finish it all, you get to go home with an awesome T-shirt that has “I got crabs at Humpy’s” written on the front of it.
Ultimate Slider Challenge
Where: Chompie’s (Various locations in Arizona)
What’s in it: 12 Jewish sliders filled with mini potato pancakes, lean brisket, Jack cheese, with a side of gravy and countless onion rings.
Everyone loves Jewish sliders, right? If you’re energetically nodding your head right now, do you think you could eat 12 sliders in one sitting?

Although you might be thinking that this is an easy challenge, it’s actually a lot harder than you would think. Despite the fact that countless contenders have made their way to Chompie’s in Arizona, only 12 people have ever completed the challenge. In fact, Adam Richman himself couldn’t finish the sliders and the onion rings, as proven within his Man v. Food episode. What makes this challenge even more difficult is that you have just 30 minutes to eat everything on your plate to earn your place on the wall of fame…
The Kookamonga Challenge
Where: Kooky Canuck (Memphis Tennessee)

Where: Red Rock Saloon (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
What’s in it: Two 2-pound cheeseburgers, topped with fried chicken, 1 pound of fries, onion rings, and 6 ghost pepper wings.
If this just looks like a normal plate of food, then you might want to re-read the ingredients one more time.

While the majority of The Unforgiven looks pretty delicious, it’s the last ingredient that should really get your heart pumping and your forehead sweating. As the second hottest peppers in the world, ghost peppers really are enough to make you want to peel off your skin. So, these 6 ghost pepper hot wings are designed to test anyone who dares try the challenge. To put that in perspective, the wings carry a Scoville index of around 1 million units. The average jalapeno pepper comes in at between 2,000 – 8,000 Scoville units.
