When people think of spring break, they think of wild college parties. However, students aren’t the only ones entitled to go on vacation at this time of year. March and April are actually some of the best months to go away. So, if you’re hoping to escape for a little while, these are the best spring break destinations to enjoy as an adult.

Bolivia’s salt flats are a real marvel during the early months of spring
You might not necessarily know that much about Bolivia. However, the chances are that you’ve seen pictures of the country’s iconic salt flats, Salar de Uyuni. The mirror-like effect created by these salt flats is a real marvel in photographs, and it looks just as incredible in person. If you want to see them for yourself, this time of year is actually ideal for visiting. That’s because Bolivia’s rainy season is between December and April, and the water makes the mirror effect stand out more than usual. This is a natural wonder that you don’t want to miss.

Vancouver Island, Canada, is the perfect place to recharge in spring
We’re never going to say no to spending some time with our neighbors in the north. Canada is a beautiful part of the world throughout the year, and if you’re going to visit around spring break, we’d recommend going to Vancouver Island. A beautiful slice of nature that feels very separate from the real world, it’s a wonderful place to recharge if the start of your year has been a hectic one. You can even stay at places like Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, which is basically like an adult sleepaway camp.

Samaná Bay, Dominican Republic, is a coastal escape with a few incredible treats
Spring break in the Dominican Republic isn’t exactly a new concept. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t places here where you can escape the usual tourists. Samaná Bay is one of our favorites for this. The gorgeous, clear waters here mean that diving and snorkeling are some of the best ways to pass the time. Just be aware if you visit here on the earlier side of spring, though. This is when thousands of humpback whales use the ocean to birth and nurse calves, which is worth watching if you can book an expedition.

Bend, Oregon, has plenty of great activities you can enjoy in the sunshine
If you’re looking to stay in the US for a spring break vacation, why not head to Bend in Oregon? The Pacific Northwest stands as one of the most beautiful parts of the nation throughout the year, and you’re almost guaranteed to get a sunny day here. Whether you wish to go kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, or something else, Bend really is the place to be. You’ll probably struggle to find the willpower to leave once your vacation is over.
Evidently, spring break isn’t just for college students. If you want to get away for a week or two at this time of year, these destinations will ensure that you have the best possible time.
