Here’s Why Scotland Is One Of The Most Breathtaking Places On The Planet

Scotland is famous for many things. One that’s usually not on the list is the nation’s beauty, but we could have been going wrong this entire time. There are plenty of things to see across the land that have made Scotland one of the most breathtaking places on the planet.

Loch Lomond

There are Scottish lochs, and then there’s Loch Lomond. The area is surrounded by peaks and forests that make the area feel out of this world. It’s common to see people littered through the forests as they look for inspiration, while those wanting to get closer to the water can enjoy it all from the comfort of their own kayak.

Edinburgh

Sure, it might be a city, but that doesn’t mean Edinburgh can’t go down as one of the most breathtaking places in Scotland. So many notable events have taken place here throughout the years, and the city is home to some pretty impressive inventions and discoveries. As well as plenty of history, Edinburgh also has a host of striking buildings and plenty to keep people entertained.

Rannoch Moor

If you love nature and love walking, it might be time to head to Rannoch Moor. Hardcore hikers get to enjoy the space as it’s in the middle of the West Highland Way cross-country hike, but have no fear; you don’t have to walk for miles to enjoy the area. Once here, you can enjoy some of the most breathtaking animals Scotland has to offer, especially if you’re lucky enough to spot some of the famous deer on the heather-stained hills.

Dunnottar Castle

It might not be what people think of when they picture Cinderella’s castle, but Donnottar has everything and more. It was the inspiration for the family in ‘Brave,’ but it’s more in line with tragedies thanks to the amount of history that’s taken place at the castle throughout the years. Thankfully, the ruins of this castle help to keep history alive.

Orkney

Perhaps you think archeological history is confined to the likes of Rome or Cair? It seems that Orkney must have missed the memo as the area is filled with plenty of wonders that have kept history alive all this time. There is a reason UNESCO has named various areas of Scotland as World Heritage Sites. One trip here is all many of us need to be convinced.

The Isle of Skye

Thousands of people have flocked to The Isle of Skye throughout the years, and there are so many reasons it helps Scotland to go down as one of the most breathtaking places on the planet. The Fairy Pools are stunning, while the Black Cuillin Ridge almost looks like something from another planet. Wherever you look, there is something to enjoy in this slice of Scotland.

There are plenty of reasons that Scotland is one of the most breathtaking places on the planet. From the dense city centers to the rolling hills and everything in between, there is no shortage of things to see and explore during a trip to Scotland.
